CONTRACT RATIFICATION NOTICE - BALLOTS MAILED FOR MEMBER VOTE

UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 11, 2019

Hello FOSCEP Members,

As of September 9, the summary of changes and ballots have been mailed or distributed to union members for ratification of the new contract.

Please be sure to keep a watch on your mail and submit your vote before the September 27th deadline to have your voice heard.

If you have any questions on the summary of changes, please see one of the officers or directors involved in the negotiations.

UPDATE - August 14, 2019

Good Morning FOSCEP Members,

Your contract negotiating team is pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached with the Commonwealth this morning relative to our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The next step in the process will be sending out a summary of the contract changes to you for a ratification vote. This will occur in the coming weeks, with additional information to follow.

Please check the website or our social media outlets for continued updates.

To All FOSCEP Members,

The FOSCEP Board and negotiating team want to provide you with an update on contract negotiations.

We have already held multiple sessions with the Commonwealth and are near a settlement. Our next meeting is set for Thursday, August 8.

While negotiations are ongoing we cannot provide any specifics in terms of proposals and counter-proposals.

A point to make clear – AFSCME’s ratification of their contract has no bearing on the timeline for FOSCEP’s ratification and negotiation process.

Once a tentative agreement has been reached, all members will receive a summary of the changes negotiated and have an opportunity to vote to ratify the contract.

In terms of any raises that may be negotiated, the following process takes place post-ratification.

The ratified contract is sent to two Commonwealth entities for approval/analysis: the Governor’s Executive Board and the Independent Fiscal Office (IFO). This approval process takes roughly two months.

After approval is received from the Governor’s Executive Board and IFO, any raises negotiated will be reflected on the proceeding paycheck, retroactive to July 1, 2019.

All members will receive a printed copy of the new contract later this year.

If you have any questions, please contact your local FOSCEP representative or the FOSCEP office.

Thank you for your patience in this process!
